EAST COAST REFLECTOR 40 METER HF NET - By Tom KE3GK We have a 40 meter HF net every Saturday at 10:00am ET on 7.245 plus or minus. We are also in the ECR Zoom room at the same time as the net is going. The nets were originally on Monday evenings but due to gray line and time changes, we had to move to Saturdays. This is a controlled, but relaxed net with no specific questions or topics. Please join us this coming Saturday. CALLING ALL LADIES - By Melissa KI5VCB Hi!! Its Melissa, KI5VCB from Lubbock, Texas!! I am a relatively new Ham and was wondering if there were other girls out there that enjoyed talking on the radio as much as I do! I love meeting new people and learning about where they are from, and what it is like there! Lets see if we can get more girls involved! Tell all your friends, Ham radio is not just for guys! We can have our own Zoom Room on the ECR page and even our own net!! Let me know what you think, if you would be interested, and when we could get together to discuss things relevant to us girls! It's already that time of the year again! I always enjoy getting away from the cold weather here in the mid atlantic and heading down to Orlando, Florida for a little winter break. HamCation will be on February 10th through February 12th this year. The East Coast Reflector is doing a meet & greet on Saturday, February 11th at 11:45AM in the Outside Pavilion. If you are planning on attending the hamfest, I hope you take some time to visit with us during the meet & greet. The meet & greet will be hosted by Mike K2CMT and myself. Also heard from VA3GKY Matthew who is a leader of Sea Scouts in Canada. Tuesday: Following youth checked in - KE0ZNV, KF0JFQ, KF0JFQ 3rd party Joshua, KQ4CCE, N8RCL - Also joining us were K5NO, KD2ZDY, and K5KTM. YACHT BACKUPS... Keep in mind that if an issue arises that puts our YACHT server offline at any time, to go to "Meganets" . Thanks to Dave GW8SZL, Declan's dad for providing that for us. Also, Collin K0NNK has his system available at K0NNK-L. The W8PIF-R is also linked in for the Saturday youth net only. We appreciate the efforts of Dan N9MUF (YACHT server operator), Dave GW8SZL and Collin K0NNK for their support and use of their systems for backup. We sure have some dedicated supporters around us. Thank you. YOUTH NET TO CONSIDER... The Lake Washington ARC outside of Seattle has a youth on Mondays at 6pm pst, 7pm mst, 8pm cst, 9pm est. It is run by youth in that area. We have been invited to join them. It is on the K7LWH-L 4441 and on several Seattle links. Their youth net was held on Monday with several YACHT check ins. Their N.C. was Amelia who checked in with us on YACHT chat. Put this net on your schedule for Mondays at 8pm CST, 9pm EST, 7pm MST. TEXAS NET TO LINK TO YACHT... In emails with Steve NU5D, a linked repeater system in Texas will connect up to our Sat. evening youth net in hopes of raising more youth activity in that area around Waco. A system of 5 repeaters will join our youth net. They have an afternoon net at 3pm cst on the K5CRA-L #924587 which covers the 5 repeaters. A group of hams in that area thought it was a good idea to bring in more youth operators. PORTRAIT OF A BUSY YOUNG HAM...
