Thank you to all who checked in to the Morning Brew.  The following are answers to some of our recent daily questions.

We asked the following questions.   As always, only answers with a tally of 2 or more were included below.  Thanks to Derby Dan (KD2VNU) for his hard work in logging the answers and tallying the results after each net.

EAST COAST REFLECTOR 40 METER HF NET - By Tom KE3GK

We have a 40 meter HF net every Saturday at 9:00am ET on 7.245 plus or minus.

We are also in the ECR Zoom room at the same time as the net is going.

This is a controlled, but relaxed net with no specific questions or topics.

Please join us this coming Saturday.



WHACKER LINK - PSEUDO P25 TRUNKING IN A WEB BROWSER - By Caleb KO4UYJ

Ever wondered how a P25 public safety trunked radio system works? Well, Whacker Link is a good starting place to learn. Whacker Link is a (very beta) example of how a TRS (trunked radio system) works.

Here is an example of the main radio screen:


All buttons on the front and sides of the radio are functional. Here is a pic provided by K0NNK to show some buttons:


This is basically a voice chat but cooler. Here is an example of the monitor page.


This project has a long way to go, but I need some testers in the mean time. If anyone would like to join the dev team we could surely use the help!  The only required skills are basic js, html, and css skills.

NET REVIEW... One of our most productive youth nets was logged on Saturday.  Joining our cruise were these youth:  2W0KYH, KC3OTG, N4LLC, KJ7AGQ, KQ4CCE, KN6ULC (Japan), N6RWC, N8RCL, N8APR, K8APR 3rd party Kayla, KN4VKY, KN4VKW, KQ4AKR, KC3RAP, KD9VGV, N8JJM, N8ARM (new call), NC8R, K8LJM, KO4PPD, KE8LQR.  Also had 2 dads and 1 Mom with us, K8APR Andy, KD9UVX Peter and KC3PMV Sharon.  Also 3 stations from Texas.  All in all, one of our largest nets in recent months.  Net ran for 70 min. Let's do this again soon. Thanks to you all.

CHAT SESSIONS... Monday:  Check ins included, Rachel N8RCL, Nick KO4PPD, John KJ7AGQ, Jacob KQ4CCE, Katie KE8LQR, Neil VU3EFZ along with K5NO.  Tuesday:  N8APR, N8JJM, KQ4CCE, KF0JFQ, KF0JFQ 3rd party Joshua, N8ARM, N8RCL, KE8RJU, KJ7AGQ Thanks to our youth check ins and also to K5NO and KD2ZDY.  Pop in this evening and ride along with us on our Ash Wednesday edition.

AFTER SCHOOL NET... Rachel N8RCL ran this net on Monday on the W8IRA linked repeater system in lower Michigan.  She did a great job and checked in a number of youth and older hams.  Check it out at 5:30pm EST, 4:30pm CST on the W8IRA-R system.  Emma KE8IKS is also a N.C.  Both are YACHT members.

MICHIGAN SECTION ACC
ARRL MICHIGAN YOUTH SERVICES
YACHT stands for Young Amateurs Communication Team the Co-Founder Ed
Engleman KG8CX informs me of the following.
YACHT consists of young hams from ages 9 to the upper teens. We have an
informal Echo Link chat session every weekend at 8 PM EST and a very
popular youth net on Saturday evening same time slot on #954283. We also
have HF opportunities for those who have a General or Extra license. The
YL SSB System has a youth net on 14.332 on Saturday 3 PM EST with 5 of
the youth ham members as net control. One of the youth hams KE0ZNV runs
a YACHT youth net on Sat. at 6PM EST at or around 14.327 PM EST
depending on QRM.
